Rina’s mother played an important role in her life; providing a source of strength, inspiration and motivation. She pursued her undergraduate studies in the field of computer science, despite her own inclinations towards a business discipline. Rina later continued to pursue a MBA degree, satisfying her inner yearnings for a business programme.
Rina began her professional career in the IT industry in Singapore. And the 4 years she spent there provided her with invaluable lessons and insights for her to foray into the bigger commercial world outside. Rina joined an Australian IT company and it was under the tutelage of her former chairman and mentor, Rina honed her understanding and skills in navigating the intricacies and dynamism of the financial world. As the co-founder of Mercatus Capital1, Rina departs from the traditional business framework and works on a completely different paradigm. While track records of a company’s performance are important, she also believes in investing in good people – the geniuses behind the products and services. She believes in creating opportunities for talented individuals in the exact same way she was given the opportunity to prove her worth.

Her forte is in strategizing and driving business directions for several lifestyle companies, including Singapore home-grown cosmetics giant – I Nuovi Professional2 where Rina is the managing director for its Malaysia office. She continues to play an instrumental role in expanding and cementing her clients’ presence not only in their local markets but also in the international arena.
