17th April 2012: It has been a year since Amber Chia Academy (ACA) celebrated its inaugural graduation show and this time around, the next wave of upcoming makeup artists and models - more specifically 90 students from ACA Jaya One as well as ACA Malacca - were introduced to the fashion and beauty industry as they graduated at the Amber Chia Academy Graduation Show - Spring/Summer 2012, at 1 Utama Shopping Centre’s “Fashion on 1” fashion week.

With four academies fully operating across the country, particularly Jaya One - Petaling Jaya, Malacca, Penang, and Berjaya Times Square - Kuala Lumpur, ACA is currently school to over 500 students.

The all white-themed grand celebration was emceed by Miss Malaysia World 2010 Nadia Heng in her capacity as a former ACA student. Graduating makeup artists put on a spectacular showcase of their geometric-themed makeup presentations in dramatic fashion; whereas graduating models took on the runway parading their catwalk skills according to various themes, such as the glamourous white collection in accordance to the event’s theme, an oriental collection by Keith Kee Couture, as well as the ‘KONBERSASIAN’ collection.
The interesting ‘KONBERSASIAN’ collection was specially produced for this occasion, by stylist Swing Chan, with an awareness message to create ‘conversations’ about societal issues. The fashion showcase was closed by catwalk guru Benjamin Toong, who outdid himself yet again by upgrading his signature nine inch to eleven inch high heels and without the heel no less this time around.

“I am already tremendously proud of what our graduates have achieved the past year and hopefully, this brand new batch of upcoming makeup artists and models will go on to make Amber Chia Academy even prouder. Also, one of the kid models - actor Crystal Lee, who is now a singer groomed by producer and violinist Dennis Lau - impressed the guests with her vocal prowess when she sang an Adele's number - Someone Like You.
Besides that, nine alumni members of ACA, who are the reigning title holders of different searches and pageants from last year, returned to the stage they have graduated from, decked out in casual wear by A Loft of Things, and opened the show with an electrifying hip hop performance with instructor Ryan Thoo.

Since its inception a little over a year and a half ago, ACA has produced numerous graduates that have successfully established and carved promising paths for themselves in the industry by winning various titles - most notably from the Asia Model Festival Awards New Face Model Search Malaysia 2011, Jaspal Fashionista Search 2011, Eco Model International Search 2011, Miss Malaysia International Model of the Year 2011, Miss Malaysia Model of the World 2011, Amaze International Model Search 2011, Mister Ubermen Malaysia 2011, Miss Selangor Kebaya 2011, and the Roxy Model Search 2011.
Other members of its alumni have also gone on to make their presence felt in the industry by debuting on the prominent runways of last year’s Malaysia International Fashion Week.
