Beauty with brains, yes she is!
Mei Sze Choo, or better known as Meizs, is a triple threat beauty who models and emcees with a Phd degree in developmental psychology from the University of Hawaii in hand.
Meizs has a wide range of experience in the modelling and emceeing field for corporate events in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the US(particularly Hawaii). Her passion towards hosting has made her come back to Malaysia in hopes of having a talk show of her own in the future (we believe in you girl!).
this entertainment industry?
Meizs: I started venturing into this industry at the tender age of 17, fresh out of high school. I was basically scouted by a talent manager for commercials and did my first commercial for Clorets then. In addition, I entered Miss Malaysia Earth and represented Selangor for the national finals in Penang. I won the title Miss Malaysia Fire and was third runner up. Since then, I have been in this industry starting from Malaysia, then to the US (while studying there) and in Singapore over my holiday breaks.
WoM: If entertainment was not meant for you, what other path would you
choose to venture in?

WoM: Was it hard for you to break into the entertainment world? Have you everfelt like giving up?
Meizs: It wasn't hard for me because I was scouted initially, but since coming back in August last year, I had to start from ground zero in Malaysia. I would say it was a little difficult for me to re-establish old connections and network because people forget easily especially in the entertainment industry. I was about to give up but my passion for creating awareness through the media propelled me to continue pursuing what I love to do, and hence, I am at a very good place right now. I actually see my talk show coming into fruition.
WoM: Most women tend to get envious of other women’s beauty and success. What is your say on this matter?
Meizs: I agree on this matter because I have been a victim of jealousy before especially in high school and college. I believe jealousy is the worst feeling to have because it brings out the worst in a person. I used to be really hurt when my friends do that to me, or worse still, girls I didn’t know gossiped about things I didn’t do. Thus, I learned through time and experience that girlfriends who are true friends will always stick by you
and is truly happy for your success. Those that aren’t should learn to be more confident of themselves and turn that jealous feeling they have to more productive endeavours such as doing sports, or pursuing a hobby
they thoroughly enjoy.

WoM: Lastly, is there any personal message or advice that you would like to
share with all the young women out there in Malaysia?
Meizs: For all you young women out there, always pursue your passion fully and don’t be afraid to fail while trying because you only learn from it and get stronger! All young women of Malaysia should also know their rights, power and strength as females, to be confident of them and strive to be the most you can be.
